| 29th March | News from the Fold |
According to a news item on Doctor Who News from the BBC's internal magazine Ariel,
Doctor Who Executive Producer Russell T. Davies is unhappy with the timeslot that series four has been given. The article quotes him as telling Ariel
"that the BBC should maintain the later 7pm-7.15pm slot and the budget for the sci-fi series but it had mucked it up.
The BBC believes the programme would do as well in the new slot, he said. 'Well, we'll see, but I think I'm right.'"
Russell also plans to resist any move to make the show in High Definition (HD), like its sister programme Torchwood, claiming that it would be "too expensive".
Also, several members of the Doctor Who team have been nominated for a
Television Craft Award. Tom Collins has been
nominated for the Interactive Creative Contribution Award for the Doctor Who Comic Maker on the official website; Murray Gold for Original Television Music;
The Sound Team for Sound Fiction/Entertainment; The Mill for Visual Effects; and prominent Who writer Steven Moffat for last year's story Blink.
Good luck to all.

It's the time of year to do your duty for Who. Doctor Who is nominated for the Most Popular Actor, Actress and Drama in

category), so you'll have no trouble in voting Who.
Voting takes place on the website above and ends midday on the 31st of October. The results show will be broadcast that
evening on ITV1. Hopefully this won't be another case where ITV rig the results of a competition...

statement he made on website's home page, Shaun revealed that the site

http://www.doctorwhoforum.com/ and the news section will move to its new home at
http://www.doctorwhonews.com/.
In the statement, Shaun told readers that, "though I've very much enjoyed the new Doctor Who series since its return in 2003 (and loved much
of the previous season's worth of stories), I'm sure it's become clear to all of our readers that my passion for Doctor Who fandom has
waned. Simply put, there are other pressing concerns on my life -- my career and my higher education, my personal life, my other hobbies
and so forth -- that I enjoy much more these days, as a zeal for editing this website becomes more of a burden."
I'd like to thank Shaun Lyon and the rest of the Outpost Gallifrey team for their dedication to fans of Doctor Who over the years. Long may the
legacy of Outpost Gallifrey continue and my very best wishes to Shaun.

Sarah Jane Smith is a truly remarkable woman. She inhabits a world of mystery, danger and wonder.
A world where aliens are commonplace and the Earth is constantly under threat. A world that Maria Jackson -
a seemingly ordinary girl - can only dream of until she moves in next door. Nothing will ever be ordinary again.
In the first adventure, there's a new drink taking the world by storm - Bubbleshock! Everyone's drinking it.
When Maria's dragged along to the factory tour by her new friend, Kelsey - a girl with an opinion on everything - she's
plunged into the sinister world of Bubbleshock and the mysterious Mrs Wormwood. There's something terrible behind the hype -
something Sarah Jane's interested in too...

| 27th May | The Future of Martha Jones? |
|
Yesterday, The Sun newspaper reported that "Freema Agyeman has been axed from the next series [of Doctor Who]".
The article adds that: "Show chiefs think her performance is not as strong as in her earlier episodes." Furthermore, it quotes a source as
saying that: "Freema is very talented but we don’t think she is just right on Doctor Who. None of this is being done with any malice. Freema’s a lovely girl."
An Editorial on Freema Agyeman.com has described the Sun's article as "nonsense" and
an "attempt to poison Freema’s fanbase by eroding the will to commit to her character emotionally". The editorial adds that other sources have confirmed the story as
"completely false". Furthermore, the editorial quotes a short official statement from the BBC that reads: "It is absolute rubbish that Freema Agyeman has been axed or sacked from Doctor Who.
However, we do not comment on future storylines."

Lastly, the Official Doctor Who site has created a Comic Maker. The idea is that you make a Doctor Who comic based on the tenth Doctor.
You can even add yourself into the action if you have a mugshot of yourself (a collection of shots from different sides is the best for a central role) as well.
Try it out at the Comic Maker Mini-site.

| 2nd May | 42 Delayed! |
The BBC are to delay the transmission of 42 by a week due to the coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Whereas in previous years, Doctor Who was given an earlier slot, this year it will not be shown on Saturday,
12th May.
At the moment it is unclear whether the rest of the series will also be delayed by a week as a result.
The Official Website has kindly given a link to the BBC Feedback page
, which you can use if you wish to complain about this. In my own opinion, the delay is either due to the episode being
inappropriate for broadcasting at an earlier time, or because a much earler timeslot will adversely affect ratings.
