The Story
The crew of the Cargo ship the SS Pentallian are in grave danger. Their ship is being drawn into the Sun of a distant galaxy. Amongst their midst is a dangerous crew member, Korwin, who has been possessed. He has wrecked the engines and set off the emergency lock down. The Doctor and Martha pick up the ship's distress signal and land inside it. They have only 42 minutes to stop the ship burning up in the Sun.

Martha joins Riley to unlock the many doors that lead to the auxiliary engine room, but they soon encounter another possessed crew mate Ashton, who jettisons the emergency escape pod with them inside. The escape pod begins to drift towards the Sun. It is up to the Doctor to save Martha from burning up and to save the rest of the crew from certain death...

Memorable Quotes
Korwin: Burn with me!

Doctor: I dunno. Talk about dumbing down! Don't they teach recreational mathematics anymore?

Riley: The wonderful world of space travel. Prettier it looks, the more likely it is to kill ya.

Mysterious minion of Mr Saxon: Thanks for all you're doing Mrs Jones. Mr Saxon will be very grateful.

Editor's Review
Well that was quite a fun, fast paced, and exhausting episode! I'll do the minor niggles first so I don't ruin the rest of the review. My first gripe is that the Doctor has had too many near death experiences. He had what appeared to be a heart attack in The Shakespeare Code, the life force sucked out of him in Smith and Jones, and this week he was nearly killed by being possessed by a Sun. Next week's episode seems to contain yet another one.

Secondly, I found the telephone conversations between Martha and her mum a little annoying. Although Jackie was quite often a moaner, Francine multiplies that by a thousand! Every time she speaks it's a sordid question about the Doctor. She has a good reason though since she's gained some rather mysterious new friends...

The rest of the episode was brilliant though. There was tension throughout and Michelle Collins did a solid job as the Captain under stress. The rest of the cast also did a solid job. The "burn with me" line is similar in effect to the "Are you my mummy?" from series one. Next week is Human Nature. (Dan Ludlow)
