The Story
Martha Jones is a medical student who one day hopes to become a Doctor. It quickly becomes a day that is far from ordinary. At first she sees a strange man who takes his tie off in front of her in the street - a man she later meets in the Hospital.

As if that wasn't weird enough, she finds herself inside a Hospital that has been transported to the Moon. The strange man re-appears and announces himself as the Doctor. As he does so a race of intergalactic mercenaries known as the Judoon arrive to capture an alien.

The alien, more commonly known as Florence Finnegan, aims to escape the Judoon by drinking the blood of Mr Stoker, a Hospital consultant, and escaping by wiping everyone else out with the MRI scanner.

As the Doctor and Martha find themselves running from both Florence and the Judoon, it soon becomes clear that they haven't got much time to stop everyone dying from oxygen starvation...

Memorable Quotes
Martha: I had a cousin, Adeola. She worked at Canary Wharf. She never came home.

Mr Stoker: What are names now when something unnamable is marching towards us across the Moon?

Doctor: Look down there, you've got a little shop. I like a little shop.

Martha's Mother: Since when did you watch the news? You can't even handle Quizmania!

Editor's Review
Smith and Jones was a fairly good start to the third series of Doctor Who. Freema Agyeman plays Martha with an understated edge, which was a big difference from the in- your-face character of Rose. David Tennant is still going strong as the Doctor as well.

The star of the show was Anne Reid, who played the chilling Florence Finnigan really well. The straw was a really funny prop to go with her very devious character. The Judoon were also quite impressive. One problem at the moment is that Martha has more family emotional baggage than Rose at the moment. I hope it doesn't overshadow the adventures. (Dan Ludlow)
