Throughout his life, Elton has seen some pretty weird things. When he was four years old, he saw a man standing in his living room in the middle of the night.
That man was the Doctor. Ever since then, Elton has seen shop window Dummies come to life, spaceships overhead and a weird looking alien in an abandoned warehouse.
Love and Monsters is the story of Elton's experiences with his friends at LINDA (the London Investigation 'N' Detection Agency) and a very unusual man named Victor
Kennedy, who doesn't like to be touched...

Victor Kennedy: This is worse, much worse. I blister to the touch.
Ursula: Use that Cane on him and you'll get one hell of a smack off me. And then a good kick.
Jackie: I used to have this little mate called Mickey. He did all that stuff. He's gone now.
Doctor: Elton! Fetch a spade.

Love and Monsters is far from being a Doctor Who episode and it's for that reason that I didn't like it that much. Marc Warren is a really good actor and it's a nice
story, but the lack of a real alien menace and of the Doctor (who only appears alongside Rose for about five minutes) makes it a truly dull episode.
When I first thought about the Absorballof's starring role, I imagined dark streets and a very tall, menacing creature walking into people and absorbing them. Peter
Kay did play the creature quite well and some bits of the episode were OK, but I doubt I'll ever watch it again.
