The Story
Lucie Miller, a nineteen year old from the North of England in 2006, suddenly appears inside the TARDIS - much to the Doctor's disapproval. Unfortunately, when the Doctor tries to take Lucy back home, the TARDIS lands on the Earth colony world of 'Red Rocket Rising' - a planet where the black dust clouds obscure the Planet's two suns.

On arrival, the Doctor and Lucie help the acting President Eileen Clint and lab assistant Asha escape the angry mob of survivors. Later, however, Eileen accepts an offer of help from the Daleks. When she tells the Daleks about the Doctor, they order her to arrest him and to hand him over to them.

Fortunately the Doctor has a plan - the "mutant Daleks" created by the professor find themselves at odds with the visiting force, so he pledges to aid the visiting Daleks destroy the Professors'. Unfortunately, the visitors are weak, and, with only their spacecraft left, set a collision course for the Professor's complex.

Cardwell has other plans. After saving Lucie from imprisonment on the Dalek ship, he damages its engines. The Doctor, deciding that this move is brave but stupid, hatches an alternative plan to prevent the more numerous mutants winning, but it means putting the remaining humans in danger...

Editor's Review
Part one of this story was quite an enjoyable episode. However, its early scenes are almost the same as those from The Runaway Bride. Despite this, the rest of the episode is brilliantly enacted by the members of the cast.

Part two is sadly weaker than the first. The solution to the problem was a too easy and quick, and, after the good start, was a disappointing end. However, it is still worth a listen, if only for one comic line said by the Doctor himself... (Dan Ludlow)
